Former RATT Frontman PEARCY: 'We Were An Interesting Batch Of Freaks'

Launch Radio Networks reports: RATT is one of the latest bands to be profiled on the VH1 series "Behind The Music". The episode, which premiered Thursday night (May 11),has all the usual subjects, including fame, fortune, debauchery, guys hating each other, even the loss of a bandmember — founder and guitarist Robbin Crosby, who died of AIDS in June 2002 at age 42 [NOTE: According to the "Behind The Music" program, Crosby actually died of a drug overdose]. Original lead singer Stephen Pearcy told Launch that people — including the members of RATT — can learn a lot by watching the show. "It's an interesting trip, because I don't think all of us even knew what we were doing, you know?" he said. "I mean, we had the good, bad, and the ugly, like I say, you know? It gets you into retrospective... hey, it's rock-and-roll, you know? We ain't the ROLLING STONES or LED ZEPPELIN here, you know? (laughs) There's other bands that have much more turmoil than RATT, but we are — we were an interesting batch of freaks."

Pearcy no longer sings with the band, and there have been lawsuits back and forth in recent years.

Pearcy released an live acoustic album called "Stripped" earlier this week. It features RATT hits like "Round And Round" and "Lay It Down", as well as covers of LED ZEPPELIN's "Bring It On Home" and FLEETWOOD MAC's "Oh Well".
